Girbau’s subsidiary in the United States, Continental GIRBAU Inc. played host to the first International Vended Laundry Summit from April 17th to 19th, attended by dealers from countries including Korea, Japan, India, Mexico, Spain and the United States.
The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences in self-service laundries, and to learn the keys to success in this expanding segment of the market.
Among other aspects, the meeting highlighted the importance of choosing the site for the coin-op laundry in order to ensure its success, as well as techniques for raising capital from investors for opening establishments.
The training took place at the Continental University of Oshkosh (Wisconsin).
During the International Vended Laundry Summit attendees participated in theoretical and practical training sessions, during which they learnt how to increase the productivity and operability of coin-op laundries. The meeting underscored the similarities between markets as apparently diverse as those of America or Asia.
GIRBAU currently has a wide range of machinery operating in coin-op laundries. The main markets are the US, with more than 20,000 coin-op laundries having Girbau machinery in operation, and Japan, with equipment installed in over 3,000 laundries.
