Discover how Girbau modernised the in-house laundry at Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort to increase operating capacity, improve energy efficiency and ensure high-quality textile care. With the installation of INTELI washers and high-performance dryers, the project enables agile management of the growing volume of spa towels, bed linen and restaurant textiles. This solution demonstrates how innovation and automation can transform a resort’s laundry into a strategic asset for operational efficiency, sustainability and a premium guest experience.

Project objective

To modernise the resort’s in-house laundry in order to increase capacity, improve efficiency and maintain high-quality textile care, ensuring it can handle the growing volume of spa towels and hotel bed linen.

The challenge

The continuous increase in spa towels and hotel linen meant that the previous laundry installation was no longer sufficient. In addition, the resort needed to improve energy efficiency and textile care without compromising the high quality standards offered to guests.

The solution

Girbau installed three INTELI HS-6023 washers (25 kg) and three ED660 gas dryers, creating a high-capacity, energy-efficient laundry system capable of meeting the resort’s growing demand while guaranteeing superior textile care.

A modernisation aligned with a premium guest experience

A resort focused on excellence

Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa is a luxury resort located between Suffolk and Essex, with more than 70 years of history. It features two 18-hole championship golf courses, 80 hotel rooms, a spa with a high-tech gym and five self-catering lodges. Its offering is built around delivering exceptional experiences, where service quality and attention to detail are essential.

Flexible technology for different textiles

The HS-6023 INTELI washers offer 20 predefined programmes and 79 customisable programmes, allowing easy adaptation to different types of fabrics, including spa towels treated with oils, which are particularly difficult to wash.

Each washer processes between 15 and 16 loads of towels per day, with 45-minute cycles. In addition, between six and eight daily loads of hotel bed linen and restaurant napkins are processed.

Energy-efficient drying

The ED660 gas dryers feature a 37 kg drum, cabinet insulation and a double-glazed door to prevent heat loss. Their advanced Moisture Control system detects when textiles are dry and automatically activates the cooling phase, reducing energy consumption and protecting fabric quality.

A full 34 kg load is dried in just 25 minutes.
