Project objective
To upgrade the on-premise laundry at The Landmark London by replacing an outdated 55 kg washer with a higher-capacity, high-performance model, while ensuring a smooth installation within a highly confined basement space and minimising operational downtime.
The challenge
The hotel’s laundry is located in the basement, with extremely limited access and minimal manoeuvring space. In addition, the laundry operates 365 days a year, making it essential to complete the installation within a very short time window to avoid disruption to the daily operations of a five-star hotel.
The solution
Girbau installed a HS-6057 washer with a 63 kg capacity through a carefully planned and precisely executed operation. A delivery truck equipped with a HIAB crane was used to lower the machine through a basement window, after temporarily removing a section of the fire wall. The entire installation process, including utility connections and commissioning, was completed in just five hours over the weekend, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
