Five Functions in One Machine — Maximum Productivity in Minimum Space
Project objective
To increase the productivity of Krazee Klean Inc., a commercial and industrial dry-cleaning laundry, by installing a compact machine that centralizes drying, ironing, folding, and stacking, enabling the business to take on new commercial accounts, including military bases.
The challenge
Krazee Klean, located in Fort Kent, Alberta, needed to increase the speed and capacity of its commercial laundry without expanding its footprint. With two new military accounts, the laundry had to process large volumes of bedding, table linen and pillowcases while maintaining quality and avoiding overloading staff.
Before the investment, conventional ironing machines required 8 to 10 hours per day to process sheets, limiting the ability to take on new contracts. A solution was needed to automate and accelerate the process, improving efficiency and productivity.
The solution
Owner Wanda Ackert invested in the Girbau Compact 5-in-One, nicknamed “Bella”. This compact machine performs multiple functions in a single unit: it dries, irons, folds, and stacks laundry automatically, handling different types of textiles with one or two operators.
The laundry also uses high-capacity series H washers and Multimatic and Union dry-cleaning machines for industrial workwear, along with rotary dryers, ensuring efficient processing of both military and industrial laundry.
“Bella” processes sheets, pillowcases, tablecloths and other linen at speeds of 2 to 10 meters per minute, handling up to 1,600 king-size sheets in an 8-hour workday, tripling the laundry’s productivity.

“Bella” provides fully automated ironing, folding, and stacking. Operators only need to load items, and the machine handles the entire process, increasing production speed without adding staff.
Capacity for high volumes
The Compact 5-in-One can process up to 200 sheets per hour, adapting to different types of textiles and items. This allows Krazee Klean to accept high-volume accounts without compromising delivery times or quality.
