This past Saturday, Girbau celebrated its 105th anniversary with a special event at its headquarters in Vic. More than a century after its founding in 1920 as a small workshop for electromechanical equipment, the company gathered its entire headquarters team, their families, and the presidents of its international subsidiaries to commemorate a milestone that goes far beyond business—a shared story of innovation, commitment, and values.
The day began with guided tours of the production centers, where Girbau employees and their families had the opportunity to explore the company’s industrial processes, technological evolution, and the projects shaping its path forward.
The event was also a celebration of talent, creativity, and team spirit. Live musical performances, a rollerskating show, and a unique moment in which Girbau’s HS washers became both stage and artistic canvas symbolized the fusion of industry, art, and design that characterizes the company.
Adding a sweet local touch to an already meaningful day, world champion chocolatier Lluc Crusellas sent his personal congratulations along with a commemorative cake created especially for the occasion.
During the celebration—and accompanied by Mercè Girbau and Pere Girbau, current leaders and representatives of the third generation, as well as Toni Girbau and Teresa Girbau, members of the second generation and key figures in the company’s industrial and human consolidation—attendees revisited defining moments in Girbau’s history. The company highlighted its growth from its roots in Vic into a global brand. A strong testament to this journey was the presence of the presidents of the company’s 16 international subsidiaries, along with Mike Floyd, who received special recognition for his longstanding connection to Girbau and his pivotal role in more than 30 years of leading Girbau North America.
As part of the commemorative activities for this 105th anniversary, Girbau has launched a series of symbolic gestures and celebrations that will continue throughout the year. Among them is the planting of a cypress tree at the headquarters in memory of Pere Girbau, a key figure of the second generation, as well as events at the group’s international offices, where each subsidiary will celebrate the anniversary locally.
This 105th anniversary served as an opportunity to reconnect with the company’s origins, celebrate the present alongside those who make it possible every day, and look toward the future with renewed energy and a strong sense of community.
