Creating positive change for people, our industry and the planet
At Girbau, sustainability is about more than reducing environmental impact. It means designing smarter laundry solutions, using resources responsibly and creating lasting value for our customers, our people and the communities around us.
Our ESG approach brings environmental, social and governance priorities together across the business, helping us continually improve the way we operate and the solutions we provide.
From developing more energy- and water-efficient laundry technology to responsible manufacturing and supporting our people, we are committed to making measurable progress towards a more sustainable textile care industry.

Targeting a 20% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, using 2023 as our baseline year.
More than 1,200 hours dedicated to internal training in sustainability, safety and equality, helping strengthen our ESG culture across Girbau.
As part of our ESG strategy, we are working towards a cleaner, more efficient and lower-carbon business. By working closely with suppliers and logistics partners, we aim to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 20% by 2030, supporting the transition towards more sustainable textile care.
We are committed to reducing water consumption and increasing reuse across both our own operations and the laundry solutions we develop. Technologies such as the Zero Water Platform help minimise water use, improve efficiency and reduce the overall environmental impact of professional laundry operations.
We aim to reduce the use of virgin plastics by 50% by 2040, increasing the use of recycled materials and introducing more circular solutions across our packaging and logistics. This forms part of our wider commitment to reducing waste and using resources more responsibly.
32% of the energy used at our main facility in Vic is generated on-site from renewable sources. We continue to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency as part of our strategy to reduce emissions and minimise the environmental impact of our operations.
Transparency, accountability and continuous improvement are central to our ESG approach. Our EMAS registration and EcoVadis rating provide independent recognition of our environmental management and sustainability performance, supporting responsible decision-making across our business.
“Our vision was clear: to reduce water, energy and chemical consumption without compromising service quality. That’s why it was essential for us to choose a partner who shared this vision, and the entire Girbau team demonstrated sensitivity and expertise in this area from day one.”
