Girbau, Aster Award for the Best Business Track Record 2019

22 November 2019. – Girbau, the leading firm in integrated professional laundry solutions, has been awarded the Aster Award for the Best Business Track Record 2019 in the Large Companies category. Mercè Girbau, CEO of the company, collected the award at the 37th Aster Awards, organised by the ESIC Business & Marketing School. The prizes were awarded on Wednesday at the Fira de Barcelona Conference Centre, an event that acknowledges the work of large companies and SMEs to promote integration between academic education and business life.

After the event, Mercè Girbau gave this statement: “We're very proud to have received this prize for our track record from such a well-respected organisation as ESIC, which acknowledges the work and passion of all members, past and present, of the Girbau community. Next year will mark our 60th anniversary and it’s thanks to them that we have been able to consolidate our position as a leading firm on the international stage. We are the fifth firm in the world in industrial laundry solutions and we operate in over 100 countries with 15 subsidiaries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Oceania and Asia.”

Girbau also drew attention to the essential elements in managing the company: “Internationalisation, our commitment to innovation and sustainability have played a key role in our history, but also our ability to find solutions when problems arise and knowing when to take on risks as opportunities come up. Above all, Id like to point out that we place as much emphasis on what we do as how we do it, which is why over the years we've stayed true to our values as a family business, always putting people at the centre of our project.

The Aster Awards came at the same time as the graduation ceremony for the undergraduate and postgraduate students in 2018-2019 at the ESIC Business and Marketing School. The event was presided over by Eduardo Gómez, the General Director of ESIC, Eduard Prats, General Director of ESIC Catalonia and Vice-General Director; and Mar Alarcón, founder and CEO of Social Car, attending as the guest of honour.
