WELDING OPERATOR

At Girbau, we are looking for a Welding Operator to join our team in Vic.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG, MIG, MAG, electrode, and continuous welding operations according to technical specifications and quality standards.
• Assemble and weld components and subassemblies, including drums, casings, hoppers, and other metal structures.
• Prepare materials for welding by cutting, bending, shaping, and positioning parts as required.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Inspect welded parts to ensure compliance with quality, dimensional, and safety requirements.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and related machinery in good working condition.
• Carry out additional assembly tasks such as bending, pressing, and fitting components.
• Manufacture and modify prototype parts following engineering specifications.
• Identify and report defects, deviations, or equipment issues to supervisors.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, quality, and workplace safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S and housekeeping standards.

Education & Professional Experience

• Vocational qualification (Intermediate or Higher Vocational Training) in Weider, Mechanics or a related field is desirable, or equivalent experience in a similar position.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar welding position
• Schedule flexibility will be valued.
